This was posted on the Facebook page of the Aruba Surf Club (Marriott) by an individual who arrived on Friday.

I’m here!!!! I swear I think I’ve cried 10 times today already!!! They are SO happy to have us back and they sooooo desperately need us! So here’s my PSA....I’m begging you, if you normally tip the cab driver 5-10....do 15. Same with bellman and everyone. Please. If you can.
A few KEY things to note.
1. Download the app. It’s a must. Register. You’ll need your ED# from the green check card to register. See picture below. It’s called Aruba health app. Please don’t freak if it doesn’t register you. Mine did not. They can manually do it.
2. Print everything...results, copy of the green check, your receipt from payment for insurance, test, etc..
3. Be patient please. It’s new to Aruba and also to the airlines. I had a lot of problems with my two flights as United misunderstood their letter at first so I was on the phone with a manager at the ATA late last night giving them a heads up so they could escalate it and figure it out before everyone flew in today. God bless you Liza
4. There aren’t any porters or bellmans. Let’s not even begin to discuss what that did to me with all of my bags as I’m here for awhile. Lol. Thanks to Eric the manager at United for helping
5. You do not need the info until after you get your bags. You’ll get your passport stamped (yes, stamped ) then go to baggage (or duty free for us)
5. If doing duty free go ASAP and then get your luggage. I could not go due to all of my luggage coming out immediately and realizing I had no porter to help. PS...I’ll bribe anyone who is coming and can grab me titos please!!
6. After you get your luggage you go on a few lines and that’s it. Show results or test.
7. ENJOY

Ok so onto report #2! Lets talk testing! I had to test at the airport today as the 2 tests I took on Tuesday (that I really thought would be in by the time needed) are still not in! There is also a new announcement stating that the at home pixel test is not approved. Decision made. I know its a bummer however I can see where they are coming from. Let me say the test here was not bad at all! Please know it was a little unexpected as it is both a nasal and also a throat test. So just be prepared for that. I am waiting for results and they are being emailed. Hopefully soon but worse case tomorrow. There is also a number to call in the event you don't receive an email so please don't worry. Please everyone please please please respect their quarantine rules and just chill in the room until results arrive and order food in. Its for everyones safety! We are blessed enough to be coming here again and for them to be open so lets just keep it that way and keep everyone safe!

Results came back in about 8 hours - NEGATIVE!!!!!

Great info. How long are you there for? I am very interested in what happens when you come home. Will you need to be quarantined? If so for how long?

Thank you.

You do know you will have to now keep us updated on everything you see and experience in the new Aruba.

How was the Covid testing at the Aruba airport handled.

I appreciate youse guys liking the post, but I just highlighted the part of the post indicating it's not me who is in Aruba. It's someone else who posted the information on the Aruba Surf Club Facebook page. However, as she continues to post more information, I'll copy and paste it on this thread.

What I did find interesting is they took both a nasal and oral swab for the testing.

This is standard procedure for the PCR test here in the Netherlands.

As Dorothy said to the mutt in the Wizard of OZ, “Toto, I don’t think we’re in Joisey anymore, they’re doing a double test!!!

There are like 4-5 Marriott Surf Club sites.

Update posted around 7:30pm. Somewhat surprised about hardly anyone at Lings not wearing a mask. Casino information should be interesting.

"Hello my Surf Club peeps!! Here is another update. Such an amazing first day! Chilled out at a the resort and stopped into Moomba next door to see all my favs. I then took a cab and went to Ling & Sons and it was fantastic and super easy. Mostly no masks except a few. I would recommend wearing one if you are not comfortable. Casino update coming next. I am going to pop in to see all of my favs at the Stellaris casino tonight and will update you later on what is what over there."

As I posted in response to that message on the original facebook forum - please remember that the masks we wear are there mostly to protect others. So whether or not YOU are comfortable going without a mask, you should still wear one to protect everyone around you.
