On March 15, 2020 the Government of Aruba has made the difficult, but necessary decision to mandate a suspension of all inbound travel to Aruba by non-residents of Aruba. This will be in effect beginning midnight Monday, March 16 until further notice. These restrictions are subject to change as we may consider additional precautionary measures as needed. Specifically: Anyone who is not a resident of Aruba, will not be permitted to enter Aruba. Visitors currently in Aruba will be able to leave Aruba. Aruba residents currently traveling abroad will be permitted to return home to Aruba. A negative travel advisory will be in place for Aruba residents advising against outbound travel during this period.

The Government of Aruba has introduced a curfew as of Saturday (March 21st) between 9pm and 6am. Only exceptions are pharmacies and vital jobs. As of Saturday, no one can enter Aruba including residents.

All restaurants and supermarkets are open until 8:00pm. Some restaurants have delivery and take-out services. Supermarkets allowing people to enter only by batch.

Queen Beatrix International Airport is open but there are no incoming passenger flights.

Dan and I enjoyed 4 weeks on Aruba. We began our stay with 3 weeks at Costa Linda in the same unit for all 3. We are new owners at CLBR and we were really impressed with it. Our 2 bedroom unit, recently updated, was very comfortable. All staff we encountered from the front desk, to housekeeping and beach attendants and servers very friendly, helpful and welcoming. As we are owners at CLBR we received a discount on our car rental from Summit. Have to say it was the best car we’ve had in the 50 visits to Aruba. Fair pricing as well.

In 4 weeks we had nearly perfect weather. Hot and dry with little humidity. The resort wasn’t filled to capacity as Venezuelan owners weren’t able to make it this year. There was never a problem finding a palapa on the beach and for those of you who know Eagle Beach, it was wide and long. Maybe next year will be better for our friends to the south. We enjoy Aruba as it is a destination for people from all over Europe, South America and of course, the United States. We made several new friends and are looking forward to seeing them again next year.

As we do every visit we spend time with local friends at the beach, dinner and excursions. We were joined by two of our friends from the USA who blended so well with our Dutch and Aruban friends. We enjoyed sharing our favorite places with them and hope they’ll join us again soon.

Went to San Nicolas and environs and glad to see it looking so well. Last time we’d been there it was kind of sad looking. Hope it continues to change for the better. Also went to the gay bar in Oranjestad on a Saturday night. The last time we tried the old Jimmy’s was over 15 years ago. The new place is really nice. The night we went, We were the only tourists there. Had a fun time.

We finished our last week at La Quinta - returning there is like coming home. Love the staff there and have met many lovely people and their families over the years. We sold one of our remaining weeks there and look forward to returning again next year.

Have noticed that lack of competition for Dufry has killed any real duty free bargains on booze and colognes. If you know your US prices you aren’t saving more than a couple of bucks - hardly worth it for us to bring back compared to years past. Oh, and yes liquor prices have gone through the roof.
