Just read they are opening a place at the old Tony Roma's location that will be open 24/7, I would imagine that place will be packed when the bars close down.

I think that is the only time of the day that I have ever been at Denny's.

I know that many of you think it's funny/ridiculous, but to be honest, Denny's (or something like Denny's) would actually fill a niche here, I think. First of all, not everyone is from America, so for some people Denny's is "exotic cuisine". Second, there are no other 24 hour restaurants (though I'm not 100% clear whether this Denny's will be 24 hours, since it seems some laws in Aruba would need to be modified, or an exception made). Finally, there's always demand for lower cost food options, both among tourists and locals.

Will I be a frequent Denny's patron? Maybe not. Will I ever go to Denny's? I'd say probably yes.

I can't even..... But I do like to think there is something for everyone, so presumably this fills a niche.

I'd have to be awfully hungry to forgo the excellent restaurants in all price ranges for a Denny's experience. But I do realize that not everything is about tourists and that the local population may be looking forward to something different. Here in Southern Ontario Denny's are usually among the lowest rated restaurants. Maybe the experience elsewhere is different.

I've only been to a Denny's a few times when visiting New York state. It was OK. Would I go out of my way to go to Denny's in Aruba? Probably not. But as others have stated, if it does well then there probably is a need for it. If it tanks, then there wasn't a need for it.

I didn't go to Tony Romas and certainly will not go to Denny's.

From past e perience, I can tell you, Arubans cannot cook American casual dining food. Many chains have come to Aruba and their food has sucked. Houlihans, Friday’s, Sbarro, Nathan’s, Wendy’s, McDonalds, Five Guys, Taco Bell.....they’re all awful in Aruba

It's open, and appears to be pretty popular. When we went they were clearly working out the kinks - they didn't have all the ingredients needed for all their dishes, for example - and I don't think they had expected such a big turnout, so they seemed understaffed. Note that although Tony Roma's was a pretty big restaurant, the new Denny's occupies only about 1/3 of the space (they partitioned out the rest of the space for other businesses, I guess) so there's not that much space inside.
