On March 15, 2020 the Government of Aruba has made the difficult, but necessary decision to mandate a suspension of all inbound travel to Aruba by non-residents of Aruba. This will be in effect beginning midnight Monday, March 16 until further notice. These restrictions are subject to change as we may consider additional precautionary measures as needed. Specifically: Anyone who is not a resident of Aruba, will not be permitted to enter Aruba. Visitors currently in Aruba will be able to leave Aruba. Aruba residents currently traveling abroad will be permitted to return home to Aruba. A negative travel advisory will be in place for Aruba residents advising against outbound travel during this period.

UPDATE EFFECTIVE MARCH 20,2020

The Government of Aruba has introduced a curfew as of Saturday (March 21st) between 9pm and 6am. Only exceptions are pharmacies and vital jobs. As of Saturday, no one can enter Aruba including residents.

All restaurants and supermarkets are open until 8:00pm. Some restaurants have delivery and take-out services. Supermarkets allowing people to enter only by batch.

Queen Beatrix International Airport is open but there are no incoming passenger flights.

One of the monkeys posted this...and I thought that it was so good, that I wanted to post it here.

The analogy of someone's living room is a good one. In this case it is Richard's livingroom. Everyone is welcome but you don't come barging in and act as if you are the long lost housefriend who can do and say anything he/she pleases. I think some people forget that the courtesies you show someone in person, you should also show them on cyberspace.

Good post Susanna. After the last few days, and reading what you just posted, I started at the beginning of this thread and read it through again. I love it here in the swamp.

How does one become a swamp monkey? I read these posts often and really enjoy the people and conversations.

Just by posting and becoming part of the swamp.....becoming a friend that is able to share joys, and grief, advice and a shoulder...just by being authentic, and respectful.....a sense of humour helps!! :D

I must say...In all my life, I have never known something called the SWAMP...I know it's the internet, I know " we " don't really know one another... but we do...We share life...( Ronnie is fast asleep ) ...Me...I'm just talking away....I guess...What I just wanted to say is....THANK YOU...Thank you for being there, Thank you for all that you give...Life is as busy for me as it is for you, but in that we share...I can tell you..as my working day unfolds...I'm thinking...Did Ann make her connection...Did Donna get her group in line... or karen get her shower doors installeded...Did Tom wake up before 12pm.
In essence...I wanted you all to know...I care.
I feel it is important to know some one cares, and in our lives ( as the swamp )...I wanted to make sure you knew.
As i walk though this world...there is a comfort, that you walk with me.
Thank You Richard for all that is the SWAMP.

Teri...I am in the stages of looking back, and after re-reading " What is a Swamp Monkey"...I could add no more.
What does that tell me....You my dear a SWEETHEART :) ...You found me, before I did
I hope some day not far off, I can hold you close ( for like 10 min. )
and tell you...Thanks....Thanks for being a part of all this that Richard allows.

The powers that be, brought me here, and I would guess, The powers that be will make me leave, but as I wait for that...I will be the Monkey you want me to be. :)
