This is the first time we will be going to Aruba in May, we always go in September. How much of a difference can we expect as far as water temp and crowds? Really don't think I will need to make reservations for restaurants as there will only be 2 of us going.

Pretty much the same year round as far as temps per the charts above.

As for reservations, I have noticed over the last few years there have been more people in May than in the past and have only had to wait more than 15 minutes a few times.

We've been going to Aruba for 17-18 days in May/June since 1989-90 and October for 15 days for about 12 years and never had to hesitate getting fully into the water. And for a comparison, I cannot do that on Cape Cod during the Summer.
Water temperature in Aruba? Don't know. Nicely accessible? Definitely!

We've been going to Aruba in May for 20 years and we rarely make a reservation. But if you want to dine at a special type of restaurant that has limited space, does special courses for a limited number of people, you want a special location in the restaurant or its so popular that it is jam packed all year round eg.Wacky Wahoo, then you would probably need reservations.
