Breakfast buffet at Ritz 12/17/17. This is a continuation of an aborted, Jetblue comped, 12/18/16 Ritz buffet wherein three plates of food had to be consumed, by one of us, in ten minutes or miss the bus to the plane. This year we had ample time to consume. This is not the Hyatt breakfast/brunch of many years ago. It is superior to the Marriott buffet breakfast. It has the obligatory omelette chefs, meats, fruits, breads, juices, cheeses, bacon, excellent sausages, etc. The loose scrambled eggs are a winner. You can tell a bad buffett when the scrambled eggs are hard and crusted. I concentrated on the pseudo bagels and lox. Pull the dough, toast each half and fill with onions, egg whites, capers. Ample amounts of lox on top and then three fat sausages on top of each half (never bacon as texture clashes). Loose scrambled eggs on the side. Repeat as many times as capacity allows. One can tell the Ritz is a class act by its condiments. Miniature glass bottles of heinz ketchup and mayo. Few things worse than being up to your elbows in a buffet and then having to rip open those crappy, little packets of ketchup and mayo with your teeth. Tip generously and appropriate the condiments (and sausage). Cost $35 p.p.
