We went here once years ago. DH was underwhelmed with their steak, so we never returned until tonight. We did sit in the airconditioned part of the restaurant, which sadly is also the smoking section. I really can’t understand why these restaurants are still allowing smoking inside.

Well, enough ranting, now to the food. In this restaurant you can order a small or a large portion of almost anything on the menu. I like that, as I am not a big eater and would normally only order an entree. But here I can have an appetizer as well.

DH had a small special soup of the day, chicken curry soup. He said it was good. I ordered a small goat cheese salad, but asked to refrain from putting honey on it. I really hate it if my salad is very sweet. They not only refrained from glazing the cheese with honey, but also gave the dressing in a seperate cup, because it had honey in it as well. That was considerate of them. I used about 1/3 of the dressing and the salad was really nice.

As entree, DH had the daily special: a large filet mignon glazed with honey, mustard and bacon with veggies and fries. I told him not to take it, as I knew the glazing would not be to his liking. He could have filet mignon with a sauce he could choose himself. He was stubborn and I was right. He liked the filet, but not the glazing. I had the skewer with chicken and peanut sauce, a small salad and fries. The meat was almost cold, but it tasted good (great peanut sauce), so I was okay with it. DH had some of my skewer and decided to have that next time.

With 2 Hopi Bon, 2 glasses of merlot and an espresso, total bill was 150 florin, no service charge.

If we want Dutch food, we will return. But I am still unhappy about the smoking. The non airconditioned part is just too stuffy.
