We just returned from our rescheduled (from September) trip to Divi Phoenix/Aruba. We are so glad we opted to just push it out. It was perfect. I will say that we had a bit of rain three or four mornings (downpours) and most nights but it really wasn't too bad. There were a lot more bugs though so bring spray.
We took AA from Boston through Miami to Aruba - all flights were pretty full but we felt completely safe.

Checked into Divi on Friday the 6th and it was quiet - not too many people on the beach but by Saturday the first two rows of palapas were taken by 9 am. It was very different being there a week that we are not owners as we knew no one (good and bad). We walked the beach every day to Marriott and found the timeshare properties had people out on the beach but hotels like Holiday Inn were pretty empty.

Ate out every night except for arrival day - Bohemian, Oak, Sunset Grill - Chef's Collection - 2 for $99 four course dinner with each a glass of wine -FANTASTIC. Also Casa Tua, Terrazza (we feel best Italian on the island), Hostoria de Vittorio, Bugaloe for lunch, West Deck for lunch. Food and service was great everywhere.

Casinos were not paying for us at all . . . oh well we made our donations.

Spent a both our Saturday nights at Mira Sol at the Hilton - they have a great outdoor lounge area and both nights had a DJ who sang - very entertaining and felt so normal!!! At Terrazza on Thursday nights Mima also has a DJ who sings and again it was fun - lots of tables were singing along felt like a real night out!!
Nothing exciting to report - spent days on the beach and nights eating/drinking/gambling - PERFECT.
