Recently returned from our month in Aruba. Flew WestJet out of Toronto. All good with the flight. Stayed at Marriott Surf Club for 2 weeks, Ocean Club for 2 weeks and the last 2 nights at the Marriott resort.
Love all locations. The Surf Club is busier, but we love staying in the Spyglass Tower. We even had a lovely view of the ocean. It was fairly easy to get a palapa just outside the tower. To get a palapa on the beach we lined up in the afternoon to get one. Lineups actually not too bad. It's also a great way to get to know other guests. We also rented for a few days. The Ocean Club is also great. Since it's smaller we actually know more people who sit near us at the pool or out at the beach. We were lucky enough to get a high floor and again had a beautiful ocean view. At both places we ate breakfast and lunch in and went out for dinner. Choosing where to go for dinner was the biggest decision of our day. One night we went to the Aruba Ray Comedy Show. It was very good and well worth the $42 a person. It's at the Marriott Resort.
Started the day with a good walk along the beach board walk or even out along the street. We stayed around the area most nights for dinner and we could walk to and from dinner. We even walked to and from Wacky Wahoo's and Barney's. The flight home was also on WestJet and again all went well and on time. We're already booked for next year and will stay at the Renaissance in town for a few days and then go to the Surf and Ocean Clubs. This allows us to go to some of our favorite restaurants in town and to go to the private island.
We shopped at both Ling's and Superfoods. The produce at Superfoods is very good. I think I will go there more than Ling's next year.
