Well, please don't expect too much in the way of 'interesting' from this report since, except for a few trips to Ling's, we're at the beach all day every day. We were there for eighteen days/seventeen nights.
The Costa Linda beach is stunning as usual. Clean, white sand, clear, cool water with light to gentle waves every day. The general consensus of the dozen or so folks who I asked agree that the water was a bit cooler than in past years. No problem getting in but noticeably cooler.

Restaurants included our Costa Linda's Water's Edge three times for dinner, four times for lunch and three times for breakfast, Chalet Suisse two times, Matthew's two times, Terrazza Italiano once, all really good food and service. The Chophouse was a different story. Details in my Restaurant Reviews.
The cost of food, whether restaurant or Ling's, has gone up. I expect that will happen every year as long as I keep going to the island.

Since the flights are a part of the trip I will gladly mention that our non-stop Jet Blue flights from and to Boston were both smooth and had early arrivals. JB must have done something to their planes because I have been a long time blocked ears/painful descent flyer. Big time! This trip: No blocking, no pain, no residual discomfort in the hours after the flights at all. All I did was my usual couple squirts of Afrin immediately prior to flying. We used JB points and have been for several years so all we paid was the taxes which came to about a hundred bucks for the two tickets.... Love using points!
Ours was the only plane at the berth when we arrived so the walk thru immigration was a couple minutes or so. I went to Dufry by the baggage carousel and got my litres of JW Red and Drambuie. Awesome prices. I bought two litres of Drambuie to bring home at the departure gates.
Departure was very uneventful and took about 40 minutes from sidewalk to gate area.
We still had to pick up our checked baggage prior to the U.S. Customs booth area and then place it on the JB belt prior to the U.S. Security scan room. No problem as we've been doing that since it's been the system.

We rented a car from Tropic (Hans) and it was clean and new-ish and ran exceptionally well. Hans sells 'peace of mind' at a very reasonable price!
I think we've reached some point in our (wife and I) discussion regarding car rental vs. taxis. I did some math and came up with a figure for using taxis that is about 45% of what we paid for the car rental this trip. As an indicator: when I refilled the gas tank I paid $23 at the Sasaki Citgo station. Next trip rental? Who knows?!

We went two nights to the Hyatt casino. When we got there it was barely smoky. Later on, though, it became unpleasantly smoky. We went one night to the Ritz casino and it was quite un-smoky the whole time. We wound up winning for the whole trip based on how much we brought to the casinos and how much we left with. Not bad. I played Roulette and Craps and won just under $400 total. Wife did machines and won about $80 total.

So, that's it. Same old, same old, except for the casinos, maybe.

LOVE ARUBA!
