This will be a very short trip report. I broke my foot and ankle 3 weeks before we left for the island, but I wasn't going to let it ruin the trip. We flew on Deltas from Chicago to Atlanta, then to Aruba. Going out the planes were all on time. Since I was on crutches, we were able to get a wheelchair at each airport and the service they provided was great. We have been coming to Aruba for the last 15 years, with 12 of those years staying at the Marriott Aruba Surf Club and the Marriot Resort & Stellaris Casino. We stayed at the time-share for a week, then moved over to the resort for the last 4 nights. I had arraigned for a motor scooter and it was delivered to the Surf Club prior to our arrival. Since I was unable to go swimming in the sea, we reserved a pallapa (sp) close to the hut so that I didn't have to walk too far on the cruches.

The majority of the time we laid in the sun and slept. We did not go anywhere during the day. Transferring over to the resort is never an easy process. I had previously did the mobile check-in, so we went over at 11:00 am. For the past 3 years we had requested room 119 and have gotten it. This room opens right into the adult pool area. This year it was already occupied, so they were going to give us another room, but the location was not near what we wanted. After waiting over 4 hours, we finally got a room, which was upgraded to a corner unit. The rest of the stay was terrific. My only complaint would be the smoking in the Casino and the smell as you walk by it.

Having the motor scooter was a blessing. I never would have been able to walk the distances between the hotels (Surf Club to Ritz). Going back home, the flight to Atlanta was on time, but in Atlanta we did have a delay, but it wasn't that long.

Can't wait to go back next year. :D :D
