Another year, another trip report pretty much the same. Sorry if it’s boring. We flew out of BWI and we were checked in and at our gate within half hour. We found that if you go outside and do curbside check in, it is much faster. Mind you we had a 6:50 flight so we were up at 3:45 and on the airport shuttle at 4:20. I think the earlier you fly the lines are much lighter through security. We always fly Southwest (points) and we got in half hour early. No lines at all! Got our vodka, suitcases and in the Ocean club in under 45 mins!

This year we splurged and got an oceanfront unit. It was $275 more than a regular room. We worked our butts off this year and treated ourselves. I feel bad saying this, but I wasn’t overly impressed. The view was definitely amazing, but the layout of the bedroom was weird. The bedroom is huge, but there is a little hallway that leads to the closet and bathroom and then in the corner is a Jacuzzi. Opposite the Jacuzzi is a large window with blinds. Why? It’s weird because the view is the opposite side of the building and there is also no curtains so every morning I woke up early because it was so bright in the room. Watching the sunset was so amazing, but honestly I can walk to beach and do that for $275 less.

As usual, we brought our 2 suitcases of food and alcohol and I know Joey will be surprised that we actually ended up bringing some home! We did the timeshare tour again (4 years in a row) and got our $175 in vouchers. Had 2 nice dinners with them. Thank you Marriott.

This year we brought an anchor with us (separate post on BB) and it was great. We floated all day and didn’t have to keep swimming back closer to shore. Our day consisted of floating and then napping and reading and then watching sunset and then out for dinner and gambling. Repeat every day. Met tons of really fun people and now have some new Facebook friends. We always go to Sopranos and have a blast. This year we went to Bugaloe and enjoyed watching the very drunk people that got off the sunset cruise try to dance and not fall. Really fun place to go. We donated this year to the casinos. We had a good run for 5 years so no biggie.

We had no issues getting a palapa. We would go down around 8:30-9 and we were usually second row. The renovation was happening on the 6th floor and it was pretty loud, but most people didn’t care as we were all on the beach most of the day. They have happy hour 12-5. 2 drinks for $16. We did most of our gambling at the Ritz. You get a good drink and we tip well and they kept them coming.

Our flight home was 12:20 PM. We left Ocean Club at 8:50 and no lie we were at our gate at 9:50. When you go early the lines are definitely much better. Had our last drink in the crying room and had a great flight home. We were lucky to miss the heatwave in NJ and the storm that knocked power out at my house for 2 days.

And now we work like dogs again so we can go back to paradise next year. Why does vacation week go soooo fast?

I posted some restaurant reviews separately
