Good morning. Temperatures dropped a bit, but still sunny and warm enough. Plan for today is to visit the peat museum. That sounds more boring than it is. This used to be (and still is) a poor area of the Netherlands. The people here did survive by working for a few very large farmers and by digging peat. In this open air museum, they show how these people lived. I have been there about 50 years ago as a child, and have vivid memories of this museum. I remember being really shocked to see how poor these people were and how terrible their circumstances were. And it ain’t that long ago, just my grandparents generation. Makes you realise how fortunate you are.

Good morning, hot time in the summertime....

I’m a museum nerd, enjoy Ingrid. 50 years; will be interesting how correct your memories are.

Good morning ladies good morning everyone.

Enjoy Ingrid.
Sleepless night couldn’t get comfortable just too darn hot so back in the pool I go. Busy day today car dealership at 7 then lots of errands, shopping, chores trying to head south tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest.

Good morning everyone.

Third day of temps in the high 90's, making it an official heatwave in New England. Feel like temperature will be 105º today.

I have to finish making my dining room (no sew) valances today. Other than that, not much planned.
Enjoy the monkey meet, ladies. :D

Have a great day!!

This is my Orange Ginger plant. We bought it as a stalk 2 years ago and this is the first time it flowered. Thanks Don, for asking for photo posting assistance. I forgot how to do it.

Good morning all. It may be hot but at least you don't have to shovel it.

Good morning. I remember the smell of burning peat in Ireland during some of my earlier visits. My relatives burned it in the stove. We were awakened at 3:00 AM with the fire alarms going off in the house. A high pitched screetch with a woman shouting FIRE FIRE. We flew out of bed very quickly for two old people that were sound asleep. We stumbled around the house and couldn't find any issue. Smoke should set off the detector and heat would set off the sprinklers. One detector doesn't have a green light, so we'll have to check that. They are all wired to our electricity with battery back up. I'm going with George to his doctor's appointment because he can't remember how to get there. They'll probably make me stay outside.
