We drove down around May 15, for a change of scenery and hoping for furniture delivery, no furniture yet but had a good time. Some of the fun things we were able to do, mystery golf cart rides and sunset watching there’s 90+ miles of golf cart paths, use the pool the pool was strictly monitored for occupancy and distancing, dining out at restaurants again strictly monitored and constantly being cleaned, we ate mostly outdoors. We did do a little decorating really can not complete until furniture arrives. Karen took on a landscaping project she handled everything from design to completion she did a great job came out terrific gave us the much needed curb appeal. Youngest son wants to go down with the hurricane’s end of July so we will head back down then and hopefully furniture will be in.

Glad you and Karen had a nice time in Florida, Tom. I'm sure the change of scenery was a much needed mood booster.

Ann as soon as we get to see all the babies I’ll be ready to go back. Linda I do not know how to post pictures.

So I presume you feel safe there? If yes, good to know. I have been concerned about friends I have in Florida ...all are staying put in their homes there and not having family visit....but they could be in a more virus prone area than you are. Hi to Karen...sounds like she has a new vocation....landscape artist! :D

We had a discussion this morning about potentially canceling our trip to Aruba the first week of August and going to Florida instead. The in-laws have offered us their timeshare points and there are vacancies so, it would be a FAR cheaper trip. But I think we're going to wait and see what happens with the announcements on the 28th. At this point, it would only be about the difference in airfare, since the airlines are letting you change for free and the room is cancelable for now. However, seeing Florida present with over 5,000 new COVID-19 cases makes me think Aruba may yet be the safer choice.

We'll see, I guess!

You're right...2 consecutive days of 5,000 tested positive in FLA.
If you're heading to FLA, maybe go to the panhandle area to be relatively safe.

Y'all know hurricane season is just ramping up in July, don't you?
We have 'sheltered in place' during recent storm years (since 2016). Considering our options this year.

I suppose mid-Florida is the relatively safest place to be, Tom. My bro lives in The Villages.
