Tom & I gifted Matthew a week-end in NYC with Yankees tickets and hotel for his 30th b'day.
(He loves the Yankees more than he loves Megan.   )

The 4 of us are driving to the Bronx on Friday. Staying at the Best Western Stadium Inn.
Parking the car in a garage and not touching it again til we head home on Sunday.

We'll have Saturday after the game to do something fun.
The only thing that I know of in the Bronx is the zoo.

If anyone has any suggestions for us, I'd be happy to read them. 8)

Sounds like a fun weekend Patti. I'm a Long Island girl and don't know much about the Bronx either. Went to the zoo with the boys last year - it is huge, lots of walking. I think there's a Botanical Garden in the Bronx. There should be a subway near Yankee Stadium that will take you to Manhattan.

The Bronx Zoo is great. Be prepared to spend hours there; there is so much to see. My sister who is a teacher in Westchester took her class there last Friday and she went again 2 days later on Sunday (in the rain) with her family on Mother's Day. The Botanical Gardens is right up the road but you won't have time to see both. In walking distance of the zoo is the Little Italy neighborhood of Arthur Ave. where there are great Italian restaurants, bakeries and food markets. One popular restaurant is Dominick's which is family-style dining. My sister's favorite is Roberto's. If you go to Arthur Ave. you would be walking through streets that might not look safe, but when I walk to Arthur Ave. from the zoo, I had no problem. Or even though Arthur Ave. is not far from the zoo, take a Uber.

Not near Yankee stadium. It's by the Bronx Zoo.

Hi Patti - can you believe our "babies" are going to be 30 this year?? Where did time go? I'm sure Matthew is going to love his gift. :D

I'm not familiar with the Bronx area of NYC at all. When we're planning a trip to NYC I pull up Google Maps and zoom in on the neighborhood where we are staying to see the restaurants, etc. If you haven't done so already, here's the link to where your hotel is and what's around it.

Have a blast!
