We washed the boat and waxed the outside today, alot for two old forts. In with a glass of white and we'll split a steak on the grill with sauteed onions, baked potato and corn.

Cheers...it's been a beer drinking day (surprise) except for one mudslide. I got tired of beer. Too wet and chilly for gardening. I went around visiting guys who got out of nursing home care. Throat cancer, motorcycle wreck and the other had a blockage. So it was a good day. Except for this morning when I poured my cup of hot tea, went to the computer table, tripped and threw the whole cup on the keyboard. That's one way to clean the table.

Do you make your own pimento cheese? May have discussed this here before but I didn't realize it was a big dea in the south  My niece's husband is from NC...we attended the engagement party his family gave them....seems there is a bit of a contest in the family about who makes the best pimento cheese (also who makes the best lemon pound cake). My take on the various ones I sampled of both the cheese and the cake....all were exceptional!!

No, I don't. I'd never heard of it til we moved to the south 14 years ago, but yes it's a huge deal down here. Most here agree though that the Palmetto brand is the best. I find it in the lunch meat section of the grocery store. Sam's is way cheaper (in the refrigerated meat area w/ salsas and dips). We like the kind w/ jalapenos in it. My sister puts 'bacon jam' on top of it, and it's to die for.

Tara, I did that a couple weeks ago w/ my hot tea, but it hit more than the keyboard. Carpet, walls, desk, no joke - even the ceiling. It dropped out of my hand and hit the desk upright before it landed on the floor. It was awful (and hot).
