While I certainly understand the mention of NORMALS, I guess that is sometimes $400-$500K for what is going on...in too many places here/everywhere.
Near us, Latitude Margaritaville was recently named "top 55 Plus" community in the nation, but that's price range. 400 homes built in 2018, on the long-term way to 6,000 homes.

By the above definition, we're not normal. But still enjoying life here. Also like everyone else, income is not quite keeping up with expenses.

Well, I need to go back to research doing something about the ridiculous cable TV bill! Good luck, Tom!

Arrived in Saint Augustine this afternoon, just had dinner with a dear friend he and his wife were Karen’s teachers in high school we’ve been close friends since 1970. This part of the trip will be emotional as Pete lost his wife unexpectedly in June, poor man is lost he spent the summer at our house with our family was hoping he would of made some progress in healing but no just so sad.

We enjoyed your time here and looking forward to seeing you guys when you come back.

Very sorry that your friend is so lost and so lonely. It isn't easy to make life changing decisions when we are elderly. But, it does sound to me like an assisted living place with people, activities and prepared meals would provide a good distraction for him. Being alone, lonely and depressed is not good.

When Neil and I saw The Villages one of the very first things we agreed upon was if one of us predeceases the other, we will not be so lonely here. Fast forward 16 years....the friends we have made here, clubs and organizations we are members of will definitely "help" if and when that day comes. Doesn't have to be The Villages obviously, but a community with social resources to help with the eventuality of something like this is also important to factor in if possible. (Especially for those of us with no children.)

Good luck to your friend. I know he was so looking forward to your visit. You are good friends.

Karen’s family has been close with this family for over 60 years we had a nice afternoon together. Arthritis is good, throat swelled up again hopefully will drain soon.
