adjuster was here, a very small piece of the carpet delaminated so he said it should be replaced. new trim may not match up to the walls so he's adding painting too. only the largest section flooded but since the entire basement is carpeted they put the claim in for everything, another room, hall and steps going up. I should have the numbers in a week or so, they will send me a check less my $250 deductable. I will replace the carpet, not sure on the painting.

both pumps are working but the water has been pouring in like this for 6 weeks. we've had water come in like this before but not for this long. 2 of our neighbors are pumping just as much but they pump into the street. our property sits about 2 1/2 -3 feet above the street with a retaining wall so we couldn't run a pipe out. we put a dry well into the middle of the property but now that is overflowing. the mayor said the water table has risen with all the rain. this is just crazy and needs to stop soon

for those not on FB, here's a pic and video

this is the section that flooded

here's the video of the water coming in, if you click on the picture it should play.

Well, that sucks. There is nothing you can do about it, but what about your insurance company? Will they cancel you if this happens again and another claim is submitted?

Wow.
Will you be putting new carpet down there?
What about considering flooring options that can tolerate some water?

That sucks. We've been having that issue in the shelter's basement. We kept blowing the pumps out, hopefully the last pump we had installed does the job. Strange, because we are in a row of stores which are very old construction and we are the only one that floods. We're near the water so they blame it on the water table.

Oh that sucks the water is still coming
Good the insurance company is replacing all the carpeting & not just the section damaged. Like Patti said, is there another flooring option you could use incase it happens again that won't get damaged.
Or basement isn't fully finished as it does get a little damp sometimes if it rains a lot

I hope it's done raining there at least. I agree on changing from carpet. I have never had that happen so I can't imagine.

Wow! I don't understand water tables. Do you live near the water, Linda? Hopefully it slows/stops soon.
