I agree, Ardell....and that's why I want a bigger window.
I put the couch over there and plan to hibernate over there this winter.
We have bald eagles that fly over the river. 8) 8)

I appreciate everyone's opinions!
Even Linda and Kat's - I wondered if bay windows were outdated. I think it's one of
those things you either like or you don't. Also, where you put it - and what the exterior
looks like.

I still want one.

Here's our bay window during construction. This is in George's "library".

If I were to guess.... I would have thought that bay windows are a bit outdated, just bc I rarely see them on new homes around here or on home shows. I thought we had one in our first home in Richmond, VA (built in 1999), but after reading this thread, maybe we didn't. I think they were all opening windows, just framed in a 'bay window' shape, if that makes sense. Ours was on the side of the house in the back corner dining room and served no purpose - as it just stared at a house close by.

We all know though - that whatever you choose Patti, you'll make it look awesome and like it was just right the choice!

Awwww...such kind words. Thank you, Donna!
I'd like a bay that had 3 functioning windows, with slightly larger window in center. That would be perfect!
Funny how happy the idea of a new window makes me. Other than going on vacay, I am a serious
homebody. :)

Had one for 27 years in our Billerica home. Loved it. I would have the center area without grids for sure for the best view. Having windows on each side that allow flow of air worked very well. Loved decorating the inside ledge at Christmas time too. Ours protruded in the front and we had one issue to resolve with leaking...we were on the side that would ice up and melt -- ice dams - once we fixed that never happened again.
