I love baking and go way overboard at Christmas. I actually get addicted to it!

If I bake it, I eat it, so no baking for me.

Yes, that is a problem. I'd probably bring most of them to Texas with us if I decide to make them.

Baking is my favorite!!
When I designed our new kitchen, I made it perfect for a baker. :) :)

p.s. I think my love for baking goes back to receiving an easy bake oven when I was
a young girl. I used to bake those chocolate cakes for my father and he devoured them
like they were from a downtown bakery.

You all got me thinking so I went up to attic to retrieve the cookie press we used growing up which is probably 50-60 years old. It's a Mirro and now stands on two legs instead of three. I the disintegrating box is also the original typewritten recipe and the booklet that came along with the press. I'm going to try a batch or two.

I continued my Christmas Treats today. I made the crock pot candy last week (or week before). I've got the pretzel rolos in the oven now, ready to add the pecan on top. I just finished a big batch of the White Chocolate Party mix. Who knows what I'll do w/ it now. I used to send treats into the teachers and Mike's office. :? I also made a batch of spicy nuts this morning.

I (mr.) have always done some of the baking. For a neighbor's party Dec 22nd will be baking Italian sour cream cookies, also a recipe from another neighbor made with Ro-Tel diced chile peppers, phyllo cups, cheese and chopped bacon. Being from Pennsylvania Dutch country I used to like to make shoo-fly pie. I hardly ever have desert after a meal, but when I crave sweets, I satisfy my craving.

Oh I love baking. I think I feel the need to be creative at home since I work in an office at a commercial construction company and don't often see the result of all I do at work. This also extends to any type of cooking, toffee making at Christmas, knitting, crocheting, wood working, painting, home remodeling projects, gardening!! I'm always in the middle of some kind of project. I had to battle Levi for the poncho I'm knitting for a Christmas present. He was able to grab the bag off the dining room table that I thought was out of his reach. Luckily he didn't pull out any stitches.

Patti thanks for the easy bake oven memory. Your father and mine were saints! We had 3 girls in our family and he willingly ate all of the purple and green cakes we made in that thing!! All "baked" with a light bulb!!
