Does anyone else really suck at baking? Asking for a friend.
I got worked up about making fudge and peanut butter balls. Mario asked, what are you doing? Me....stop talking, I'm trying to concentrate on this (3 ingredient) recipe.

I'd be more than happy to cook anyone a full course meal, baking......faaaa-get-about-it.

I'm not a baker; although did used to make cheesecakes back in the day. Do have a recipe for gluten free choco chip peanut butter cookies that turn out every time (hard to take them out of the oven before they look set though) that I need for a friend. GF peanut butter, brn sugar, egg, vanilla, baking soda, gf choc chips; super simple. You wouldn't know there isn't flour, taste like a regular cookie. I buy everything else now (just a little something to offer after a meal though no-one ever has anything); not worth the effort when no-one eats it but me and I don't need it hanging around.

I do a little baking, used to do more but George is not supposed to eat sweets to it's usually only to make Ardy's eclair cake, sometimes some oatmeal raisin cookies or boxed cake mixes.

like your "friend" im not that great at it. i stick to cookies and now only make 2 or 3 from scratch. i buy the tub of choc chip dough and while I like the sugar cookie recipe i have, BJ's had a coupon for the premix, soooo will only make 2 from scratch this year. I started using parchment paper which somewhat reduces the blackened ones, much to kennys dispair

I love to bake. I'm more of a comfort food cooker than gourmet. My friend claims to not be able to bake at all.

I use to bake and was pretty good at it...now...just not interested. A tradition that I make candy at Christmas but now my baking is incidental. Company coming I might make a pie or a sheet cake. Well I do make muffins sometimes. Yup baking is incidental.

I love baking! The only problem is not being able to mess too much with a recipe.

Yes, baking is a science, exact measurements, you can't mess with it like a regular recipe.

I used to love baking but in the past few years it’s become a chore. :(

I’m going to try to get into it again this Christmas
Wish me luck with bratty, spoiled Spencer and keeping him off the counters

I've been thinking about making the spritz cookies we used to make growing up. I have the original cookie press we used minus one leg. We made Chrismas trees, and wreaths, used green and red food coloring the dough and sprinkles. Fun times making them with my family. I may even have the original recipe in the box.

I'm not much of a baker at all anymore. It's just me and D, and I never learned "one and done".

  and you do a fine job.
I have been known to bake, George likes it when I do, but the spirit has to move me

Is making fudge baking?...Doesn't feel like it to me.

I made fudge with black walnuts for the first time last week, usually just pecans, but my Mother wanted me to try black walnuts, She could not keep her hands or mouth out of them.

It is which is why I think John took to it so well as he was an Industrial engineer previously.
