Donna is correct that Patriot's Point is great, as is Charleston. I had one of my charter boats there on the Ashley River for several years. Love the area and spent at least one weekend a month over there. Photo below of me christening my Boko Maru at the dock. Also really love Savannah and Sullivan's Island here in Georgia. As far as places to retire, I can't help, as what I've seen anywhere close to the coast is way, way out of my price range, as are any of the Florida retirement areas. Have a great trip!!!

The little squares with the historic statures. The incredible Bonaventure cemetery. http://www.bonaventurehistorical.org/

Yesterday we went to Tybee Island which was very nice, then over to Hilton Head which we did not care for at all. We did a ghost tour last night it was pretty good. Today heading to Beaufort SC, tonight we are going to see the play A Christmas Tradition at a historic theatre in Savannah.

Cool Tom.
From what I have heard, I would love Savannah.
Drive safe.

Sounds like such a fun trip. I looked at duvet covers just yesterday and the print was called "Tybee Island". I researched places there on-line 10 years ago when I thought I might rent on a beach that took dogs; I since decided it was just easier to drive and rent in my own province  How was the show?
