If I'm going to be any kind of hostess at all, I need to pre-game  Just poured a glass of wine. I'm going to make MuyLinda Throwup (smashed carrots and turnip with a touch of maple syrup) and mashed potatoes and putting them in slow cookers to keep warm to relieve some of the last minute stress. Buddy just ate and he's perched in the window so feeling better (me anyways  ). Cheers!

Happy Thanksgiving to our neighbors up north. Just finished up some house cleaning and need to hop in the shower. We may go out for a couple of beers later.

I need a nap first. After my gym workout I helped George put up barrier paper in the crawl space which involves getting into some uncomfortable positions. In between that I've had three loads of laundry going which involves going up and down alot of steps. Waiting for the last load to dry.

Watch out with the pre-gaming!! One Thanksgiving my sister was giving me a really hard time over the phone about the dinner plans while I was cooking and I was a little upset. Well, my oldest daughter didn't like to see her Mom mad and started spiking my lemonade with Vodka. By the time dinner was ready, I was toasted. Went to take the sweet potato casserole out of the oven and dropped it....in the dog bowl, on the floor, the ceiling and the wall of windows. That one took me a week to clean!!!
Mowed this morning, went out for lunch and then to the kids house to float in the pool. A few minutes away from Wine O'Clock.....DH will be in with Red and I will have the usual Pinot Grigio.
Hope Ann made it to the island safely.

That made me laugh Maryanne!

Happy Thanksgiving, Karen. Happy Sunday to us on this side of the border. Nice day so far.... Church, quick run to grocery store, re-edit of Mike's Linked In profile, and then a nice long boat ride including a stop for lunch at the lakefront restaurant. Met mom there and sat on the outdoor patio listening to live music. More life decisions (or rather, discussed the options) made on a slow boat ride home! Now, deciding if I want to go do some quick shopping. Only ice tea so far.

Have a great evening.

It’s beautiful out, so I’m having a gin and tonic on the deck ITT listening to music.

Cheers! Carrots and turnips are for rabbits. Smashed or not. Hope you Canadians have a great Thanksgiving tomorrow!! I started tonight with a Corona, as I did last night and likely the next 4 nights. (They come in a six-pack...)

Okay, now I see what the carrot throw up is as mentioned in the Monday morning thread
I do a variation of that, carrots with swede (rutabaga) butter & white pepper :D

One of those "memories" of my Mom. I was about 14 and recovering from some painful oral surgery and needed soft foods. She made me carrots mashed in with potatoes....I remember to this day how wonderful that was. :) As they say "it's the little things in life". How true.
