So sweet. I can say Shaggy's loss hit me hard too. Very difficult to explain to anyone else how this person you never actually met, has come to have such a special place in your heart, but they have and they will continue to do so. Glad we have each other. Thanks BP for sharing!

I wonder where Culley is? She lost two daddies :(

I’m hoping his niece took her - didn’t she use to watch her at times?

That's what I was hoping too, but if she lives in an apt, might not be an option. Between the 5 kids, I choose to believe one of them was able to provide her a good home or at least have enough of a social circle between them that she has gone to a loving home already.

I always thought of him as the swamp cowboy.
Rest easy my friend!

That's funny, I thought of him as the swamp farmer, I guess he was a little of both. He went out on his John Deere to the cornfields and enjoyed relaxing while riding Cinnamon.

I was really devastated and mad at myself for never getting that chance that we talked about, drinking Balashi's on the Island together, we would have had a great time Shaggy.

It is. I’m thinking he downplayed how sick he really was to/for us :(

I seem to think he was moved into a hospice facility.

I don't think that. He told us he nogotiated a monthly (might have been a clue) lease on an apt, although I thought that meant it was a stepping stone to a future permanent location. He said he bought patio furniture and a bbq.

I know that's what I first thought too Karen but why would he do that if he knew he was terminally Ill?

I could be wrong but although I don't think he was over all the hurdles, (he was anticipating a future hospital stay) I don't think he was terminally ill.

This was from Oct. 2107 "Think I may be losing ground. Some hard decisions to make coming down the road."

I was never able to find an obituary for him. I know his daughter said details were private (and I totally respect that) but it's always nice to know even in your head where someone's final resting place is. Putting the pieces together, I do think maybe his illness was more progressed than he let on. He never complained, whined, did a "poor me" when he well could have. I hope he's resting peacefully, and that his family is doing okay...

If he ever had a doubt before, for sure he now knows how much he was loved and respected here in the Swamp.
