An " elder monkey " for those who want to know...Has been on my mind...( and I wish he wasn't )
I have enough in my life to worry about a Monkey  ....but that is what the Swamp is...Life...for me anyway...I feel for you, and I am touched by you...( whether I want it or not )...Georgene has never understood this connection, so as far as the swamp goes..I walk alone.

I met Ray ( Xcraft ) in the Swamp, and we banterd about, and gave noogies to one another, his wit was always present, as was the love for his wife ( Bev ).
I fear Ray will never post here again, not because he has passed, but because he is gone.

I feel Ray died on Febuary 23rd. 2008...( Bev's death )...and I feel I owe it to Ray...to put my heart next to his, and make a Thread about him and the love of his life.
It won't be easy for me, but nothing worthwhile is easy.

So bear with me as I search my heart for our beloved Xcraft.

an excerpt from Ray's wife ( Bev ) Memoriam Book...

My dearest Bev...If I could turn back time,I would give anything to return some sixty years to a warm spring afternoon in May on a long walk, hand in hand and a pretty 16 year old girl, alone the shores of Lake Champlain.

 oh sh*t...I'm crying already.

Shaggy would say..." just spit it out all ready "

Dick would say.." take a swig of Old Parr and go for it, by the way can you take theses wires off my chest.

Judi would say..." just shut up, and bring me chocolate.

Bev's Memoriam Excerpt..." I tried to do my best for you. I wish my best had been a little better. You deserved so much better...Miss you so. Ray.
This is an excerpt from a man, that didn't know what he had till it was gone...." so human of us...isn't it ".

Listen Swamp...We are all human, and in that humanity, we take what's closest to us for granted... Please be forgiving of youself.
I can say with out a doudt...Bev forgave him.

I will always remember the "noogie" at Foxwoods. He is such a special man and I always enjoyed reading his love stories. I think you both have a lot in common, both proud of your love for your wives. If he is no longer with us, he is with his Bev.
Swamp Monkeys are the best!!!

Now that's the Big Papa I know and love. I think Ray is still with us, but much frailer than we remember him. There were pics at his 90th birthday at the local diner, his favorite spot. The last FB post I see by his daughter mentioning him was in April.

I checked on Mr. X (that was my name for him) back in early June. The summary response that I got was that he was still with us, but not doing very well.

I miss X. I'm friends with two of his daughters, so I know he's still with us, but we haven't spoken about him.

BP, thanks for the excerpts. There are so many wonderful monkeys here.
I always loved to read X's posts about Bev, she must have been such a beautiful person.

I miss him too. :( I will say Mike didn’t really get the monkeys until we met a few and then more at the benefit. He gets it now.

I adored X's posts about his beloved Bev. Thank you for the update on him Donnalee. I hope he knows how much he's beloved here.
