While useful I think they are horrendous looking.
I have enough bulk in that area without adding more.

Dude, there is nothing quite as sexy as a man with a purse. Just saying.....

Lost my wallet last September...small amount of money, but credit cards and all kinds of ID were nasty to replace.
Sheer stupidity on my part...it came out of a shallow shorts pocket...when I sat down in a large shopping mall.

No shape for an XL fanny purse, so I bought a "carry-something", big enough for wallet and phone.
Couldn't get either wallet or phone out easily when I wanted them...as really didn't know how to carry it.
Belts are a rarity and cord over shoulder or cross-body didn't work well.

Latest trial is a travel bag (small man-purse) from Eddie Bauer...about the dimensions of a book.
3 zip-up spaces for wallet, phone...even a mini iPad. Strap is long enough to wear on-shoulder or cross-body.
Still experimenting, nothing seems to be where I want it -- when I want it.

But NO fanny packs here. Sandy doesn't like them anymore, but she now carries a shoulder purse, probably 15 pounds, because she has so much in it.

John has been using an old fanny pack of mine when we go to markets with our cookie company , it's his money bag. It was starting to get beaten up so we ordered a new more stylish one from Amazon.

FYI, we call them bum bags in UK as Fanny is a different thing

I still have one or two in my drawer which I haven't used in quite some time. I could use the extra bulk on my butt. I have a mini back pack I usually take with me when I go into Manhattan. It's a cheesy looking one I got from BMS with I'm not a fashionata or as my father used to say "I ain't going to no fashion show" so I don't really care.

i loved fanny packs. luckily us girls can get along with a small crossbag, i can anyway. it never worked if kenny was with me because i had to carry his phone, keys, glasses, etc. now i buy him cargo shorts with lots of pockets. i buy the ones that are more on the dressy side, he carries his own stuff now :D

On our cruise in December they had one of their usual $10 sales. There is a purse made of the lightweight nylon washable material that is fantastic. The adjustable straps allow it to be cross body if you wish. The best part is it has 5 zippered compartments. It is about 8"x8" and labeled Cruise Club. Because of the 5 different areas it is a great travel purse and everything isn't in one area and you can set it up like a filing system knowing where everything is. It is my definite "go to" purse when travelling. I picked up quite a few extras for gifts for my friends. They also have a smaller version with 3 zippers on the front of the purse but I much prefer the 5 zippers.

I still have mine and use it on all my walks. You reach a point (I have) where you don't really care what other people think....

I learned that word's definition from a couple of my friends in the UK a few years ago. Had no idea that it was not a word to be used lightly. They about spewed drinks out of their nose when I used the word "fanny" in regular conversation. LOL!!!!!!!

Here is a selfie of me and a fanny pack I used January 21st on a walk around the woods. Oh, and as the misuse of American English by the British..... On my 1st trip to Ireland in 1996, I was trying to pick up the girl wearing tight black leather slacks.... I told her; "I really like your pants." Yikes!
