I'm making something similar to what the Boston folks call American Chop Suey. Ground beef, onion, elbow macacroni, tomato soup and I added peas and mozzarella cheese. What are you having to go with your drinks tonight?

Nope - we (my family) calls it goulash. Ground beef, onion, peppers, tomato sauce, elbows and parmesan cheese. Tomato soup and peas nowhere in site. I wouldn't object to mozzarella though. :D I will have to make some soon. We had chicken pot pie tonight.

Tomato soup probably in place of tomato sauce and peas and cheese were my addition. The peas and their juice add moistness to the recipe. Orig recipe - 1 cup elbows, one large onion, one can tomato soup, 1 lb. ground beef, salt, pepper, basil. Saute the onions and brown the ground beef along with spices. Cook up the elbows. Mix all, then bake for 1/2 hour. My version tonight was really good.

I'm trying a new Chinese/Japanese/sushi place. I'm getting a couple of different sushi rolls and a Hunan pork combination.

No tomato soup in our's either  . We cleaned out the fridge...Shepard's pie and the steak, peppers, onions and mushrooms in barbecue sauce over rice...made a fresh salad.

Wanted for supper: grilled steak, loaded baked spud, fresh green beans, garlic toast, Cesear salad, brownie with ice cream and chocolate syrup. Glass or two of 7 Deadly Zins to go with.

Had for supper: beef bouillon soup, sliced canned pears.

Sigh.........

Oh Shags :(
Can you take daughter youngest out for Valentine's Day this weekend to a steak place? Do you think you'll be up to it?

American chop suey in out house has tomato soup (no peas or cheese)
If you add tomato sauce, it's just pasta to me

Stomach is still a bit questionable, so not risking things by indulging. Hoping that things will be back to what passes as my normal in the next few days.

We had what we called Goulash growing up, but I guess it was more like elbow lasagna..... spaghetti sauce w/ elbows mixed together w/ mozz on top.
