Hope all y'all had a great New Years Eve celebration last night. We had fun here with balloons and everything.

Here's to a GREAT 2018!! This year starts with a Super Moon, just 225,825 miles from Earth. Here is my handheld shot from the driveway a few minutes ago.

Good morning! Slept alright; not great, but also not too bad. Fireworks all night, but not so much as other years. Today we have a busy day: new years celebration this afternoon and afterwards our annual traditional Japanese new year dinner. This time two of our friends (one half Japanese) will join us.

Tom, I love your moon pictures!! Well, Florida NYE is very different than Massachusetts. There were no fireworks....no fireworks. Just gunshots.....for real. They go outside and shoot real guns.

Good morning; just realized I haven't shovelled yet for winter 17-18 and the noreaster coming this week should again be just a rain event. Should be.... We are all cuddled on the couch waiting for Ollie's mom and dad. Starting out at -13c /9F.

Good morning and Happy New Year. Darn cold outside. No plans to do anything except perhaps a nap later.

Interesting thought that there is almost always a monkey awake thanks to Ingrid, Tom and John. The Swamp always has a watchful eye on things!

Have a great day!

Oh yeah...innocent people have died from a shot fired up into the air. In Orlando, I know. A shot fired killed a person a few blocks away.
There were some fireworks near us...well, at least, I think they were fireworks.
Finally in bed about 1:15 AM. Two friends spent the evening, playing a card game, noshing and sharing some wine. When midnight came, no one wanted any bubbly stuff.
The heat pump is cranking, but it is in the mid-50's this morning. A short reprieve before colder weather.
Have a good one, everyone!

Good morning! I did not make it to midnight and I enjoyed a good night's sleep. What is it with those idiots shooting guns into the air?!! If there were fireworks here, I didn't hear them. Too stinkin' cold outside. This morning it is -6F/-21C. Coldest we've been this winter so far.
