Now Tara, I thought we were friends.
We're a baseball family here, as well.

Another nice day on tap in upstate NY.
I went to a popular downtown bakery yesterday to talk about why my french macarons are not turning out well.
Perhaps I am whipping my meringue too long? I did ten (yes, 10) batches last week - on a rainy day - which
turns out folks, don't ever bake macarons on a rainy day because chances are good they'll be a bust.

Guess how much one macaron cookie costs from the bakery? $2.50! What?!!

One more baking macarons attempt is on my wedding agenda.

p.s. If you bake macarons, tell me your secrets!

Good morning, going to be sunny & 68 today. Still have a couple more nice days then it falls apart for the weekend :?

John will be at a market later so I get a little me time :D Will spend it making a big batch of mac & cheese, some for dinner then the rest to the freezer. The recipe uses part chicken stock instead of all milk, so good :D

Teri, so nice to only have a couple more sleeps.

Patti, never made macarons but have seen them on the Great British baking show. Yes rain/moisture is not a friend of meringue. Good luck.

Have a good Wednesday

Good morning everyone. I’m living in chaos. Everything from spare bedroom is my living room. Walls, carpet, insulation being removed. Can’t even determine the bathroom damage yet. Prayers for my sanity would be appreciated.

Pat....are you remodeling or repairing damage? Dan, great to see you! DonnaLee sending hugs and prayers. Froggy, I continue to do well but still months away from where I want to be (the 'process' takes 8-12 months). But I am independent, can drive, can walk (though not as far as I want to  ) and grateful for excellent surgeon and PT (and of course for husband who took care of me and everything else to get me over the first few weeks! ) Trying to talk myself into taking it easy today  Hope everyone's day is going well.

Hi everyone. Boy what an ugly day it is today! It's cold and rainy here. I don't usually go out during my work day, but I had to run over to my car dealership and it was nasty out.

Here's a picture of last night's vegetable pickup. We got celery, Brussels sprouts, green beans, eggplant, raspberries, Jonagold apples and arugula. There was a bin of extra arugula and celery and we're welcome to take extra if we want, so I grabbed a 2nd arugula.

Have a great day.
