You can use it whenever you need a covid test, not just for travel. The test was easy to perform under the supervision of a Vault representative. We flew Southwest to Aruba and used the Vault test. See the response from the Aruba Tourism Authority:

Bon dia, hope all is well.

Thank you for contacting us. In regards to your question:

The Vault Saliva PCR test will be accepted to enter Aruba since this test has been evaluated and approved by the local (health) authorities; this is about the test itself, notwithstanding the Airline you use to fly to Aruba with. Thus the Vault test result may be provided even if you fly with a different airline than Jet Blue.  Please be mindful that the Aruba Health Authority does review all  tests results that have been uploaded within the edcard platform and they issue an email if the test result is not accepted/denied.  If so you will need to be re-tested upon arrival at the Aruba airport Health Desk.  A payment of $75 per test applies. Mandatory 24 hours quarantine at your hotel room accommodation applies until you receive the result of your test.

Thank You – "Masha Danki" – Warm greetings from the 'One happy island'

Make sure you tell Vault Health that the test is being used for travel to Aruba They tagged our return mailer envelope with an expedite code. Shipped out Thursday PM, lab received Friday AM and results by 9AM Saturday. We live in Massachusetts, the lab is in NJ.

nice that there is another option but my insurance will only cover "administered" tests, not self.

Just make sure it's the correct rapid test (PCR) and you'll be fine.
