Saw some videos that claim to be recent and there were cruise ships in the harbor. Can't be right.

They have been sitting there for months. No passengers, they are just sitting there

Very interesting. Guess with so many of those ships serving the Caribbean they have to park them somewhere.

There were 5 cruise ships when I was in Aruba 9/13-10/5. Norwegian Sun and Norwegian Gem, Windstar and Windsurf, and Freewinds. About once a week they would take one of the Norwegian ships out for a ride.

They do maintenance runs, operating with skeleton crews.
Plus, Aruba is considered a safe place for ships to anchor. Low risk for major storms and a stable government. That's why you see so many ships off the coast at times, including all those unused/out-of-work drilling ships. They pay the Port Authority good money to stay and receive services from them like food and fuel.

Can you imagine what it is like being part of a small crew on the ship that usually holds several thousand people. Sounds like it would make a great horror/mystery movie.

There were still two in port last week, Norwegian Sun and Gem, they are both empty.
