Delayed I mean.

I believe that ArubaAmy and Lindaspooky (maybe others) will be on their way over the next few weeks to month. Amy always does a very detailed report but after she returns.

Amy and Lindaspooky and others can you please think about doing mini reports so that we know how it was getting there, arriving in Aruba, resorts, etc.

I promise to do the same starting November 30th.

Hopefully all the reports will be positive and push those on the fence people to head to Aruba.

I can definitely post updates after I arrive on Oct. 30.

I will spend the first 10 days there solo and hubby will follow on Nov. 9 so I will grill him on his airport experience as well to see if it matches mine (or if it's better / worse.)

We are staying at Amsterdam Manor for 3 weeks and I know they are undergoing a huge renovation project right now. They do have a few rooms filled but with Dutch Marines (in transition / waiting to fly back to Holland) and some medical workers from the U.S. so it won't be a total ghost town. Why are there medical workers there from the U.S? I have no idea but will ask....

Thanks Amy but you still will have to do your end of trip report detailed with photos.

Thought I was getting out of the "homework". Darn!

Snow will probably be flying by the time I return (and I am still stuck at home working) so it will probably be a nice diversion. ;)

I leave on the 26th and will post updates. I normally don't stay at the Riu before my TS but they had such a good deal this year it was worth it. Will decide after the first 5 days if i continue with AI. I usually only do a day or 2 but again the price is right so i can still have dinner out. No car this year but I will still check out as many places as I can

Yes, please, please do tripreports on the go. I desperately need them.

Amy, there was a group of 10 medical workers from the US that were staying on Curacao to help with the COVID patients. They were not really needed on Curacao (the numbers weren’t as high as they expected) and they were transfered to Aruba when the numbers started going up. I guess it might be this group that is staying at the AMBR.

Thank you all.

Example of misinformation: Friend sends me an email asking if I was aware that Aruba was being closed down due to uncontrolled Covid-19 taking over the island.

Those of us going over the next few weeks or months can help with all the BS that other sites are spouting.

It is the same here in Ontario, Canada. We are scheduled for two weeks in February. (14 - March 02) People are CONSTANTLY asking us if we are still going. Asking "do we not hear the rapid numbers in Aruba". So much misleading information on the internet. We are a party of 8 and as long as Aruba lets us in... We will be there.... :D

Yes, indeed. Because Aruba and Curaçao doesn't have enough personnel to attend the extra beds added to the Intensive Care Units in the Hospitals, the Dutch Government provided these experts, and hired them from AMI Medical Staffing from the USA. They're like temporary Hospital nurses specializing in Intensive Care Units.

Today (Friday 10/16) there's only 1 patient in the ICU Unit here.
