There were 14 people (all residents) who tested positive since the numbers were released yesterday, and 31 patients are marked "recovered", so there are now just 434 active cases.

308 people were tested since yesterday, 132 residents and 176 visitors at the airport.

At the hospital, there are now 10 patients in the ICU (an increase of one since yesterday), and 16 in the "covid ward" (a decrease of six).

Bryan, I'm getting too old to understand the numbers.
Does it mean that 308 people came through the airport...locals and visitors?
The island cannot survive on only 176 visitors.
I know that some islanders used to travel back and forth between the ABC islands...others used to travel to Venezuela.
What's really going on? Are some people traveling back and forth to Sint Maarten etc.?

Hi, JohnT. No, there were 176 visitors who chose to get tested on arrival. Many other visitors arrived, but they were pre-tested before departure and didn't need to test again on landing.

As of right now, the borders with Curacao and Bonaire are still closed, so there's no inter-islands travel. To get to Sint Maarten, someone would have to go to the US I think before traveling to the island, as there's no direct flights.

The borders with Venezuela are also closed, with the exception of rare humanitarian repatriation flights.

Of those 176 must include people who got tested at home but didn't get results in time So they had to test in Aruba.

Thanks, Bryan for the explanation.
It seems weird to me that people can travel from the US, but not from the BC islands.
It is what it is.

Sorry, let me clarify - Curacao and Bonaire have closed THEIR borders with Aruba. When the number of COVID-19 cases spiraled up a few months ago, they decided it wasn't safe to allow travel from Aruba to their islands.
