Found this posted on the CDC today

Coronavirus Symptoms: Covid-19 Emergency Warning Signs:

Fever or chills Trouble Breathing
Cough Persistent pain or pressure in the chest
Shortness of breath New Confusion
Fatigue Inability to wake or stay awake
Muscle or body aches Bluish lips or face
Headache
New loss of taste or smell
Congestion or runny nose
Nausea or vomiting
Diarrhea

Covid-19 and Underlying Medical Conditions

Chronic kidney disease
COPD
Obesity (body mass 30 or higher)
Heart conditions such as heart failure, coronary artery disease or cardiomyopathies
Sickle cell disease
Weakened immune system from an organ transplant

The following conditions might put people at increased risk of severe illness

Asthma (moderate to severe)
Cerebrovascular disease
Cystic fibrosis
Dementia and other neurological conditions
High blood pressure (hypertension)
Liver disease
Pregnancy
Pulmonary fibrosis
Smoking
Thalassemia (type of blood disorder)
Type 1 diabetes
Any condition that has weakened your immune system

I think people need to take a long hard look at themselves and say is it worth it to put myself, loved ones and strangers in harms way. Of the 3+million people in the US that have been tested so far 9% tested positive to Covid-19. That is a low number but none the less it is a number.

Luckily for the divine Mrs. AJ and I we do not have any of the above noted conditions and I hope that if you have any of the above you will for this year do a staycation. If you feel you must travel buy travel insurance that will allow you to cancel before you leave for Aruba or anywhere should you get sick and especially the key signs of Covid-19. Watch out as your trip draws closer for the signs and your health.

I will follow whatever guidelines that the US and Aruba have at that time and hope for all of us and the Aruban people that we can come out of this stronger and more aware people.

That are wise words, Joey. I can only second them.

thanks joey, good information. i went to my dr to see if we could get the antibody test as kenny and i were both really sick in january, he constantly gets bronchitis and now has COPD listed as a condition. dr said no need since we are both low risk. I was really surprised for kenny at 78. Doesn't really matter, he has decided not to travel this year.

I've already set up my appt with dr for the 3 days before I leave.

I am 78 and have high blood pressure. My physician says that I can travel and that is whose advice I will take. Just because you have an underlying condition does not in and of itself mean that you should not travel. Consult with your doctors before making any decision.
