The government of Aruba decided today to ban the use of atv’s in all parts of Aruba that are under the supervision of Arikok National Parc. Until the end of this year, it is partly allowed, but only with a permit. After that, atv’s are banned. Also the government is busy with a law that forbids atv’s to drive on public roads.

Thank God for Governmental Overreach.

DD since the government has now put the ATV companies out of business for good will they pay 100% to the owners and their employees salaries.

If they have no other means of income, yes, they will get social security.

I like the policy. Seems only to apply to National Parks.

I do not have an ATV, but I do own snowmobiles. We have the same problems.....The issue is usually people ignoring the trail use signs and choosing to tear up the landscape beyond the trails that really should be left alone so everybody can enjoy it. The same applies to the use of off-road vehicles as well. I was dismayed by the tracks left by people in jeeps when we had one last year. There are miles of back roads to drive on and it literally takes years for nature to restore the tracks left by off-road vehicles.
The ATV ban should certainly be coupled with enforced regulations regarding the use of jeeps on the wild side of the island. Just as it is on the sand dunes by the lighthouse.

Related - unrelated.

Few years ago the adventurous Mrs. AJ and I are touring the backside roads of the island in our Yugo size car and REALLY stuck in the sand dunes are two jeeps with their passengers just sitting in the open jeeps I imagine waiting for a tow truck to pull then out.

As my buddy has said......"God don't like ugly".
