Will my iPhone with Verizon ACCEPT 1-800 numbers while in Aruba? Verizon tells me they are unsure and I need to just wait and see once I arrive?
Thanks in advance, Tammy

I believe if you are in wi-fi calling only then all calls in to out should be free.

No you can't dial a 800 # from Aruba to the U.S. If the # you want to call has a regular # besides the 800 #, turn on Wi-Fi calling before you leave home. Then you can place free phone calls to the U.S. while on Wi-Fi. Goggle Wi-Fi calling Verizon for directions or go to you local Verizon wireless store for them to set-it up. Note: When you use Wi-Fi calling in Aruba you do not have to dial an International code - just the U.S. area code and phone #.

I did receive calls from 800 and 866 #'s while in Aruba this summer. Cold calls; on vacation no less!

Kidding aside, I do have Verizon however the calls were going to my business line which happened to be forwarded to my cell. So i'm not sure if it was because of that or not.

Again as I noted in my first response I am in no way an expert on cell phones and Aruba.

What I do know is in Aruba I only use wi-fi. As far as I know my phone does not know where I am and when I am anywhere where I am using wi-fi calling I get 1-800,1-888,1-877 etc. So in my still uneducated opinion my cell phone on wi-fi will get and receive every call made to me.

Just make sure your phone is properly set.
