Maybe this will help as I haven't stayed there but as I stay at the Phoenix I walk in the AM. PM and evenings visit to the casino. The place seems very nice and quiet and well managed. No kids less Marco Polo and noise.

Best part was last December in the late afternoon at the swim up bar was a women with big boobs who had a bit too much to drink. She was topless and resting her boobs on the bar with drink in hand. Where was my camera when I needed it.

It would be a place I would look to stay at.

I cannot see staying at an all inclusive when there are so many fine restaurants on the island.
Just my opinion.

Way back when...... the Riu was the Aruba Palm Beach then the Aruba Grand.
Before we bought TS at Costa Linda we used to stay at some of the Palm Beach hotels/resorts including the Aruba Palm. Our opinion was that the portion of the beach at the Aruba Palm (now Riu) was by far the best part of Palm Beach for several reasons.

leftyjy, The original question was about adult RIU next door not the one you are referring to.

Oh. I did not know that.
I was offering my experiences at the beach that the whole three building Riu campus sits on as being a nicer part of the Palm Beach area beaches which, to me, would be one of the first criteria for staying at any hotel/timeshare on Aruba, adults only or otherwise.
Obviously, other folks have different criteria, eh?

Does it have handicapped facilities? It's a long and steep walk up the ramp after parking. I was puzzled the casino asked for passport identification and must bring it next time. Did not go back following years.

I, too, struggle to get past Security at the Riu......and the Ritz-Carlton......and the Hyatt......you get the idea.

I know it's not "recent" but, we stayed back in 2016. The place is very nice, awesome beach, good food, good drinks, 24/7. Entertainment....not so much......the walk up is very steep from the front of the hotel. Not sure if it is handicapped accessible.

We did not enjoy the atmosphere though. Too quiet. No one was in the pool. No kids laughing and giggling (which we personally missed) thought it just felt a little too stuffy!

Love the Palace next door. Have been several times and plan on going again in July!
