I’ve gone to Aruba for years and player cash games at Hilton (even back when it was the Radisson) and Holiday Inn.

Searching the net I’ve seen that there’s been some cash games and tournaments at Riu and what used to be the Occidental (name escapes me at the moment).

Anyone know of current tournaments going on?

These always change but here's what I found on my recent trip:

Hilton - Tuesday and Thursday - Poker tournament - $35 to enter, can rebuy (either once or twice - can't remember) up to the break, then at break an add-on for either $25 or $30 (can't remember the exact amount). Registration starts at 8PM tournament starts around 8:30PM. Get there on time because they fill up. They were running 3 tables that night, mostly tourists with a few locals.

Holiday Inn - Wed - Poker tournament - $25 to enter, $10 dealer add on, can rebuy once for $25 and add on $25 at the break. They also had 3 tables and it was mostly locals. I was the only tourist at my table. I made it to the final table and 4 of the last 10 were tourists, rest were locals.

This year, the "big money" nightly cash game seemed to be at the Hilton, where last year it was at the Holiday Inn. Always seems to change each year in my experience.

I did notice on some nights there were playing limit (I think 4-8) at Holiday Inn and it was 100% locals.

* It's amazing, I've played down there for a decade and I remember one "kid" who was playing when he's was 15. Now he's around 25 years old... time flies. Yes, that's right, 15 years old. They'll let anyone play down there, at the Holiday Inn tournament there were 2 American kids who weren't 18.

Isn't the Excelsior Casino (Holiday Inn) closed now? I read that it is closed until September, when it will reopen with a new casino management company, probably a new name and a refurbished casino.

At the Riu, is/was there a game at the Cool Casino or the Orchid Casino (old Casablanca)?
