Can someone guide me through the process of using WAZE in Aruba without getting hit with huge data charges? I'm not super techie. I believe there is a process to download the map of Aruba and use the available internet to download directions from A to B. I just don't know how to do that. I've been googling for sites that might have directions on the process and so far no luck.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Louise

Waze as you may know is an app. In the car it works off of your cell phone connection. Here is the States your cell phone carrier (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint etc.) supplies a constant signal so you can use it. In Aruba you would have to use Setar I would imagine as it seems to have the best service on the island but sure not ever where.

What do I do. If I am unsure of a location I go on the resort wi-fi and see where the place is and map it out. Plus there are many good road maps available. After all it is an island and how far can one go in any direction.

If you do not have an international data plan or use an Aruba sim card, you will have charges.

Do as Joey suggests. When you know your destination, use the Maps.me app to plot your course. Save it to your phone while online, and you can use it offline. Maps.me is the same as using Google maps offline.

I think Waze needs to have a data connection, but not sure.
