I look in on the Port Aruba Web Cam every day usually in the morning and again in mid afternoon.

For the better part of the past two weeks I think I've seen only four cruise ships in port, total.

Anyone have any idea why?

Thank you.

Unusual to not see any. This is our normal time to go and there are usually one or two per week.

I just read in Angelo Limon's blog his article regarding some sort of ban on ships sailing between Aruba and Venezuela. Further, there will be a meeting scheduled sometime in June with officials from Venezuela, Aruba and the Netherlands to re-open this lane.
Bonaire and Curacao have already opened their shipping lanes.
Jewelers, taxis, sailing tours, and plenty of other Aruba businesses are suffering for sure.

I don't think the block on shipping between Aruba and Venezuela impacts cruise ships. I think the block mainly impacts produce, etc that goes to the commercial port. This is a slower season for cruises to the Caribbean and as stated by Chuck and Laura about 2 cruise ships per week is the norm. And you stated you were seeing two a week.

The number of cruise visits normally decreases around May through the Summer months.

Bearing in mind that large numbers of cruise ships will have repositioned back to the Mediterranean / Baltics / Alaska and other summer cruise locations by now, it's to be expected that the number of ships docking in Aruba and elsewhere in the Caribbean will be reduced for the next several months.

Thanks for the link Liz! Taken it with me so I know when to not go downtown. More than one ship at port makes it way too crowded for my liking. LOL
