Hard to tell by the story if it will be sold to Eldorado or he has to sell it as a condition of the closing.

Why did I all of a sudden start to feel nervous about my reservation at the Trop this Oct? "Sold separately"....It would not be the first time this resort was in bankruptcy territory. I better buy my trip insurance soon.

Casino will close but I wonder about fate of the resort itself.

From CarlIchan.com

"The transaction does not include Tropicana’s Aruba assets, which will be disposed of as a condition to closing. The aggregate consideration of approximately $1.85 billion will be increased by the amount of the net proceeds received in connection with the Aruba disposition and will be further adjusted to pay corporate level taxes."

I think the author of this article made a mistake. He misread the part about the Aruba Tropicana. It will be disposed at closing does not mean it is will be closing. LOL More fake news....

IMO, Ichan will keep this property. It is almost to the point where all the money that has been invested in it will start to pay off and timeshare weeks are selling well. Time will tell but I think that the ownership will be transferred to another one of his holdings. Either way, the resort is not going anywhere. Even if someone buys it, they would not pay $$$ to close it.

I think you're right. The more I'm reading it looks like it will be divested prior to the closing on the other properties. Will be interesting to see who buys it.

The resort will be sold. Word is there are several (4-5) pretty big players very interested and something will get done in the next few months. Renovations are ongoing and business as usual right now. I also heard plans for a new larger casino have been approved, but with the sale eminent, it will be up to the new owners to move forward with it.
