We have rented a 4x4 jeep to spend an entire day exploring the east or "wild side" of the island. We have done it in small sections through the years, but never from the California Lighthouse to Baby Beach in one day. My question to all of you island explorers " Is there one road that goes along the coast from north to south or will we have to jump back on a well traveled road to connect to the off roads?" Any help or advice would be much appreciated! Thanks :D

It is difficult if not impossible to get past the Natural Bridge and into the park. Once in the park you can get all the way to Baby Beach and to Adicurri, the beach that you see from the Natural Bridge. Have Fun. It is a great day. Take lots of water and a snack or lunch.

We explored the back side of the island with a Jeep a couple of weeks ago. We started at the California Lighthouse and went south to the church along the “trail” in the sand. We decided to not do the whole back side, but went to paved roads to get to the National Park. From there we went to Baby Beach and enjoyed a late lunch at Big Mama’s. A long day but we wanted to get our value for a full day of Jeep rental.

A couple of years ago I got stuck in the sand on the back side while driving a Jeep. Be careful when you decide to stop to walk around that you are around the packed sand. I backed into some soft sand and it took awhile to get going again.
