Parking meters are from 9:00 am til 3:00 pm after 3:00 they are free
Don't park in the yellow marked spaces those are for permit holders
The meters took USD last year

If you park behind the bus station, you can park free for 3 hours, even at mid-day. Just make sure, as mentioned above, that you don't park in yellow-lined spaces.

Unless it changed, you CANNOT park free as early as 3 PM...more like sunset time.

I remember putting 5 quarters into the meter. That was good for over an hour...the expiration time is printed on your ticket (which you leave in sight on the dashboard).

We moved the car down the street to another pay lot. What I did not know was that we could have received a credit for unused time in lot 1 for lot 2 time.

More spaces seemed to be available mid-day...because shop workers find other 'free' places to park...more spaces for 'paying' tourists!

Contrary to what is said by John, don’t leave your ticket in the car! If you are staying longer than you paid for, you can up your time at any parkingmeter in town. You need to number that is printed on your ticket to be able to do so.
