I owe you all three more days.

Thanks.

We were all wondering what happened with you. Glad you found back your way from San Nicolas!

Well, I read a part of some parts, but here's a thought or two.

I await a post from Ingrid/Dutchdushi. Kerststol Middel sounds like Christmas bread. When we go to Aruba in September, we get something at both Ling's and Super Foods that we call Easter bread (yes, in September). It's an eggy, sweet bread with raisins. YUMMO! Especially, toasted with loads of butter. Our trips to the supermarket may have other reason, but this bread is also on the list.

We only find 'baggers' at the supermarkets on weekends. Don't know for certain...but we thought they work for tips, not an hourly salary. Mostly high school kids. Our resort hires high school kids for the 'move-in' Saturdays. Once we learned they were only paid by tips, we responded differently. Do you now see baggers on week days? Just asking.

Well, here it is. I guess what you talk about is called krentenbrood (raisin bread) in the Netherlands. This bread we have all year round. It is very good with a thick layer of real butter. We Dutch also put cheese on it, you should try that.

What Joey talks about is a luxery version of this bread. It has almondpaste in it. This we only eat with a thick layer of butter, not with cheese. It is much sweeter. It is only available about 3 weeks around Christmas and Eastern.
