Every Residential Area In Aruba Will Be Lit At Night

September 7th 2013, Aruba.

Locals happy with new street lightning in their neighbourhoods

ORANJESTAD-The government placed an order for 4,000 additional street lights, that shall be installed in
residential areas who have poor or no street lightning. In addition, an order is placed for 9,000 Led bulbs
that will replace the existing traditional street light bulbs. The goal is to replace all street lights on the
island with Led light bulbs by 2014. This will cut energy costs and output significantly, and fits the
growing image of Aruba as an environment conscious country.

Street lights have been installed in many residential areas on the island recently, most have never had
street lights before. Residents of these areas are very pleased with the attention the government is giving
to their neighbourhoods, as now they feel more safe at night. The government wants all residential areas
lit, as listed in their master plan to upgrade all neighbourhoods on the island.
