The Netherlands Is Cooperating With Aruba To Have It Realized
December 19th 2012, Aruba.
ORANJESTAD-The Prime Minister of Aruba, Mike Eman met with several Dutch leaders recently to discuss having a European Union pre-clearance facility at the island's airport. At present Aruba has U.S. pre-clearance at the airport that was recently praised by the United States government.
Aruba has to confront different challenges, including enforcing different E.U. safety and boarder control treaties before receiving E.U. pre-clearance at the airport. The Minister of Finance, Mike de Meza says that when you are talking about E.U. pre-clearance, you are talking about E.U. boarder watch at the airport. In fact, all flights between Aruba and the European Union will be considered local, as is the case right now with the United States.
The Netherlands is cooperating with Aruba to have the E.U. pre-clearance at the airport. Aruban and Dutch commissions are working together, and have met with several delegations in Brussels to discuss the matter. Both representatives of The Netherlands and Aruba are confident that they will succeed, and that the E.U. pre-clearance will be reality on the island in the future.
